Aerospace Education Excellence (AEX) Award

October 30, 2019

One of the Civil Air Patrol's core programs is that of Aerospace Education.  Civil Air Patrol offers a popular program free to its members that brings hands-on aviation and space-related activities to cadets, students and senior members. It's called AEX, and the acronym stands for "Aerospace Education Excellence."

The Schirra squadron had fun and worked hard over 2018 and 2019 to meet all of the requirements to qualify to be recognized for promoting aerospace activities.  In a ceremony, each member of the squadron was presented with certificate of excellence in meeting the requirement to participate in six aerospace hands-on activities and one two-hour or longer field experience.

The highlight for the squadron this year was the Glider Orientation Flights (O-Flights) held earlier this year.  Photos of which can be seen in the Photo albums.
